Lockable Gas Spring
The lockable gas springs Nantai are so-called locking gas springs.
They are used for functions such as adjustments with force assist,
damping, as well as variable locking. Heavy flaps and lids can be
moved easily and held safely in place.
Lockable gas springs feature a special piston/valve system which
separates the two pressure chambers in the spring. If the valve is
open, lockable gas spring provides force support and damping. The
linear spring characteristic curve will provide an even increase in
force over the entire range of motion. If the valve is closed, the
gas spring locks and provides very high resi- stance to any motion.
Primary application areas for locking gas springs are furniture
manufacture, medical technology, building technology, aviation and
aeronautics, ship building, automotive design, and many industrial
applications.
